How to use Pro Preacher Studio

Create your church

Everything in Pro Preacher Studio belongs to a church, not to a person. Your account is a seat in it. When you first sign up you become the founding pastor of a new church, and every sermon, hymn, and service you make lives there.

1. Go to the studio and choose Create your church.
2. Enter your name, your church’s name, an email, and a password.
3. If email confirmation is on, open the link we send you. Your church is waiting.

Your church starts a seven-day free trial the moment it is created. Nothing is charged until you subscribe.

Invite your team

A church has three seats: the pastor, a worship leader, and a tech. One subscription covers all three.

1. Open Church settings (the gear, top right) and the Team tab.
2. Enter a teammate’s email, choose their role, and press Invite.
3. They receive an email. When they sign up with that address, their seat and role are already theirs.

Remove a member any time to free their seat. The founding pastor can’t be removed.

Who can do what

Each seat sees only the room it works in — and the server enforces it, so it is a real boundary, not just a hidden tab.

• Pastor — everything: the study, the manuscript, planning, hymns, the service, the pulpit, the team, and billing.
• Worship leader — the hymn library and the Sunday service, so the music is placed in the order of worship. Not the manuscript or the study.
• Tech & media — the order of service and pulpit mode, to run the screen. Nothing of the study.

The dashboard

The Study view is your landing place. It gathers the coming Lord’s Day in one place: the sermon and its progress, a readiness checklist for the service, pastoral care, and recordings. Pick any Sunday from the date button at the top right.

Plan a series

Preach through a book, not one Sunday at a time. Open the Sermon Calendar and choose Plan a series.

1. Name the book and the series, and set the first Lord’s Day.
2. Type the passages by hand, or press Let the study propose and it will divide the book into a preaching plan you can edit.
3. Press Schedule the series. Each passage is laid on a successive Sunday, skipping any already spoken for.

Any book works — Romans over a winter, John over a year, a short run through Ruth. The study’s proposal uses your AI key (see below); typing the passages yourself needs no key.

The calendar & rescheduling

The calendar shows every scheduled sermon in order, with its progress. Click any Lord’s Day to open its manuscript. If a Sunday is lost to a holiday or a guest, use the cancel icon on that week — the rest of the series shifts forward, keeping its order.

The manuscript

Write the sermon where you’ll preach it. The manuscript editor is a proper word processor with headings, scripture blockquotes, bold and italic, highlighting, and text colour. The toolbar stays with you as you scroll.

Your line breaks are kept — the manuscript reads in the pulpit the way you set it, for cadence.

Slide cues in the text

Drop a slide into the sermon itself, where it should appear. Press the Slide button in the manuscript toolbar and choose one of:

• A point from your outline — the slide follows the outline, so renaming the point renames the slide.
• A verse written right there.
• Blank — take the screen down.

In the pulpit each cue is a chip in your sentence; tap it and the screen changes. Your teaching notes never reach a screen the congregation can see.

The study assistant

An AI study partner that will not put words in your mouth. Press Ask the study. It works in stages — deep research, an outline, a draft, and revisions to a highlighted passage — and everything it writes waits for your review before it counts.

It refuses to fabricate a quotation and will not name a translation you don’t preach. Nothing it drafts enters your manuscript until you accept it.

Resources & the reader

Build a private library of commentaries, books, and notes. Upload PDFs, Word documents, EPUBs, images, and audio. Open an EPUB in the built-in reader, highlight a passage, and drop the quotation straight into your manuscript — the book is remembered as consulted for that sermon.

Hymns & chords

The hymn library holds your songs with the chords set over the words. Paste a chord sheet and it is stored as it is; in the pulpit the chords sit above the syllables, and you can hide them with one button.

The order of worship

Open Sunday Service and build the liturgy in the order you’ll lead it — hymns, readings, prayers, the sermon. Drag to reorder, attach a hymn from your library to a slot, and give a reading both its passage (which projects) and a teaching note (which stays private).

The Reformed liturgy

Press Add from the liturgy for a shelf of historic elements, ready to drop in and edit: the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds, the Gloria Patri and the Doxology, a corporate confession and its assurance of pardon, a call to worship, the Aaronic benediction, and catechism questions from Westminster and Heidelberg. Each arrives with the words that go on the screen; edit them freely.

Build custom slides

Some slides aren’t derived from the service. Press Build slides in the Sunday Service view for four templates:

• Call & response — minister and people, each line marked.
• Scripture — a verse chosen for the wall.
• Image — upload a picture to fill the screen, with an optional caption.
• Quotation — a quote and who it belongs to.

Each is shown exactly as the congregation will see it while you edit, and it rides in the deck after the service.

Pulpit mode

Press Pulpit mode for a calm, large view built for Sunday morning. Your manuscript scrolls a page at a time from the clicker in your hand; pinch to size the text; chords sit over the words for the songs. One clicker walks the whole service — reading on, then to the next item.

Keys: Space/Page Down read on, [ ] move the screen’s slide, b blacks the screen, + − size the text.

The congregation screen

The slides build themselves from the sermon and service you already made — hymns become stanzas, readings become their passages, your points become the movements. Press Open screen in pulpit mode to open the display window; put it on your TV. A dock, bottom-right, gives you previous, next, black, and a live preview of what the congregation sees.

Pair an iPad to the TV

To drive a screen on your Mac from an iPad in your hand:

1. Open the site on the machine at the TV, go to the slides window — it shows a six-letter code.
2. In pulpit mode on the iPad, press Pair screen and type the code.
3. From then on the iPad runs the screen — next, previous, black, and every cue you tap in your text.

If both windows are on the same Mac, you don’t need a code — they find each other. The code is only for driving across devices.

Recording the service

In pulpit mode, press Record service to capture the whole Lord’s Day. The recording is saved privately with that Sunday and appears on the dashboard, ready to download.

Your own AI key

The study assistant runs on your own OpenRouter key, so your research and drafting are billed to you and no one else.

1. Create a key at openrouter.ai/keys.
2. Open Church settings → Study & AI and paste it.

Your key is stored sealed and never shown again. It never reaches your browser after you save it.

Trial & billing

Every church starts with a seven-day free trial. To keep the studio open past it, open Church settings → Billing and subscribe — $29.99 a month, or $19.99 a month billed yearly, for all three seats. A card is taken at checkout and charges when the trial ends. Manage your card or cancel any time from the same tab.

The sermon archive

The Archive holds every sermon you’ve preached, with its manuscript and recording, ready to revisit or export. Your sermons are always yours to take with you.
